Look at sleeping person, he is like breathing corpse. As a believing muslim we should retire to bed while reciting " Bismika Allahumma Ahya Wa amutu" - [ By Your Name Oh Allah I live and Die] we are commanded to declare this prayer as vow to acknowledge that we have been living throughout the day by the Name of His Great Attribute named " Hayy" [ The Ever Living], and in short while we are gonna die by His Holy Name " Mummeet [ The Provider of Death].
Sleep is a great mystery and death is another greater mystery, and known only to Believers [ Mukmin] the realty and Mystery of death. Sleep is the window to peep through the other world which is [ Alamul Barzakh] the World of Deads awaiting transfer to the World of Reality [ The Day of Judgement]. Through process of Sleep many of the believers have comprehended by the Will of Almighty Allah SWT to strengthen their belief in the Alamul Barzakh and also the World Of Reality [ Yaumul Qiyamah].
Believers have taken a great lesson from those visions , good, true , spiritual dreams [ 1/16 part of the prophecies - Nubuwah] and enhanced the growth of their Iman by such encounters during their sleep. While Muslims have taken Sleep as no reminders of their death.
